Sculptural Ceramics: exploring issues of technology
These works are a response to the increasingly elevated place of technology in our society, and are inspired by the writings of Jean Baudrillard and Ray Kurzweil, the visual art of Nam June Paik, Takashi Murakami, Mathew Barney and Tim Hawkinson, and my own personal interaction with technology and cyberspace. The pieces explore the dialectic between natural and synthetic, real and authentic through materials, form and electronic elements designed to engage and confuse the senses.
